Heard. I finally feel heard. Bill and his team are one of the best things that happened to my children and I this year! They got me a 5 years DVRO!!! 5 years! I still can't believe it! Bill, Marissa, Lela and Candice were all determined to protect my children and give me my life back. And they did! From the very first day I spoke with Marissa for the intake, I felt supported. The firm was very communicative about my case.I loved that I could contact them anytime and get an immediate response. I strongly recommend the Cal Coast Law Firm to anyone who is victim of domestic violence or any other family law issue. Bill and his team will have your back 1000%. They have mine!

Man. Let me tell you. If you want a firm that will work for you... this is the place. I dont feel there was a better Lawyer suited for the purposes I needed more than Bill. He is hard working and will get things done when they matter. Not only is he understanding as a human but really digs into his clients details. I have nothing but the utmost praise and respect for him and his firm. As a United States Veteran I feel high praise should only be given for exemplary service. If I could leave 6 stars I would. If this review does anything I hope it puts his future clients minds at ease.

I originally reached out to Mr. Lutton simply looking for legal advice. I had no idea that one consultation would leave me feeling so heard, understood, and supported that I immediately knew I wanted him representing me. I was navigating a move-away and custody case involving my young child, and because of past domestic violence with the other party, I walked into the process scared, overwhelmed, and completely unsure of what the future would hold. By the time someone is searching for a family law attorney, they’re usually already carrying one of the heaviest burdens of their life. Asking for help at that point isn’t easy. From our very first meeting, Mr. Lutton reminded me that lawyers can still be human. So often attorneys are perceived as cold, detached, or focused solely on winning. That was never my experience with him. He approached my case with genuine compassion, kindness, and empathy. He never made me feel like I was just another client or another case file. He treated me like a person. Throughout the entire process, he took the time to explain everything thoroughly—what he was doing, why he was doing it, and what to expect every step of the way. He made sure I understood not only the legal process, but the reasoning behind every decision. I never felt left in the dark, and I never felt like he was simply trying to fight the other side because I was paying him to do so. What stood out to me most was his integrity. He never once fueled conflict for the sake of litigation or encouraged unnecessary hostility. Instead, he consistently kept the focus where it belonged—on the well-being of my child and finding a resolution that was fair, thoughtful, and truly in my child’s best interest. That gave me an incredible amount of confidence that he wasn’t just representing me; he was representing what was right.

Because of his hard work, I was granted my move-away order with a custody arrangement that protects my child while still leaving the door open for healthy communication with the other parent. It was an outcome that truly reflected what was best for my son, and I will always be grateful for that. More than the legal outcome, though, what I’ll remember most is how he made me feel during a stressful period of my life. He took a burden that I had been carrying alone for far too long and made it feel lighter. Instead of feeling like I was fighting this battle by myself, I felt like I had someone in my corner who genuinely cared—not just about my case, but about me and my family. That kind of support is something you can never put a price on. Before meeting Mr. Lutton, I honestly viewed attorneys as people you hired to fight. I left realizing that the very best attorneys are the ones who know when to fight, when to listen, and who never lose sight of the people whose lives are being changed by the outcome. This experience restored a great deal of my faith—not only in the legal system, but in the people who choose to practice law with compassion and integrity. If you’re looking for someone who is exceptionally knowledgeable, honest, professional, and deeply compassionate, I cannot recommend Mr. Lutton highly enough. He changed the course of my family’s future, and in the process reminded me that humanity still has a place in the legal profession. For that, I will always be grateful that he was the person standing beside us as we worked to close one of the hardest chapters of our lives.

There aren't enough stars to rate this firm - We've had an exceptional experience with Bill handling our Family Law case. Being that we are all the way in Texas and the active case is in SLO County, we were everything but hopeful in our situation. I took a chance and reached out to their office... once I spoke with Lela regarding our situation, I knew we were going to be in good hands. I had an excellent experience working with Bill on an employment matter. From the very beginning, both Bill and his paralegal were incredibly kind, responsive, and genuinely supportive. I was also under a tight timeline, and they moved quickly and efficiently, which made a huge difference and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. Situations like this are never easy, but they made me feel like I had a strong team behind me every step of the way. They handled my case with a high level of professionalism and care, and the work they produced was well-executed. Bill has a deep understanding of employment law, and that expertise led to an excellent outcome for my situation. What really stood out to me was their integrity and approach. Other lawyers I spoke with either weren’t interested because my case wasn’t “big enough,” or they pushed for aggressive litigation with very high contingency fees (some as high as 45%).
