William B. “Bill” Luton, Esq.

Bill Luton graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) with a juris doctorate (JD) from Purdue Global Law School. But Bill’s experience in working with families, drafting and revising contracts, and winning in court began well before law school graduation day.

Bill earned a PhD in Organization and Management in 2010 (with a focus in transformational leadership), and an MBA four years before that in 2006, marking the same year Bill’s 20-year career in higher education began. Bill served as an elected member of the Board of Education in his home-county in North Carolina from 2008-2012, serving and helping families across diverse backgrounds and helping the school system navigate the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. During and beyond his School Board term, Bill served in higher ed administration, even serving as interim president of an online California university and successfully guiding that institution toward its goal of a lucrative acquisition offer. That’s when Bill fell in love with California, finally moving to Paso Robles in 2023 with his family, where he worked in the local branch of an Orange County-based business litigation, intellectual property, business formation, and contract drafting firm.

With his top-of-the-class grades in law school, coupled with the dean of the law school’s formal approval, Bill was approved as a certified law student under California’s Practical Training of Law Students program, enabling him to practice law under the supervision of two different attorneys during his final two years of law school and up until he passed the bar and became a licensed California attorney. Bill had been drafting pleadings, appearing in court, taking depositions and even sitting second chair for a full arbitration trial, all before he even swore the attorney’s oath.

Bill still works closely with the firm that gave him his shot, but he also offers a wide range of legal services here at Cal Coast Law Firm, PC with a footprint in Paso Robles and a reach throughout the Central Coast and beyond.

Bill is admitted to practice in:

  1. California State Courts

(State Bar of California - SBN 363678)

  2. Federal Court

(Central District of CA US District Court)

  3. Bankruptcy Court

    (Central District US Bankruptcy Court)
